SMSI Award 2013Èmile Chamot Award Recipient: Thom HopenThom Hopen has more than 30 years of experience in forensic science. He currently specializes in trace evidence investigations for the Forensic Science Laboratory (Arson and Explosives Section) at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in Atlanta, Georgia. He has also served as Senior Research Microscopist, a teaching and research position at the McCrone Research Institute in Chicago. Mr. Hopen has presented papers at numerous professional meetings on more than 30 different topics and has authored over 20 technical publications.
